KASBAH employs one part-time advisor who is available to provide support in various ways to both members with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and their families. Some of the areas covered include advice on benefits, housing, education, mobility and health issues. Support with antenatal screening and terminations is available as well as a listening ear in the event of bereavement. We can also act as an advocate in certain circumstances.
Wherever possible KASBAH provides financial help in the form of a grant for a variety of reasons e.g. hospital visiting costs, driving assessments, mobility aids. Applications for these are available through the advisor service.
We are able to offer home visits and these are based around individual circumstances. Some of our members like to receive regular visits whereas others prefer to contact us only when they require some additional help and support.
