Seabrooke House
Seabrooke House is KASBAH’s flagship supported living scheme, for many young disabled people this is the starting point to increased independence, developing daily living skills and learning how to make informed choices. Based in Swanscombe near to Bluewater shopping centre, this site is 100% wheelchair accessible and offers a structured residential and day training programme in all areas of independent living. Six people reside in the main house at any one time and we have two flats next door to provide an additional step towards independence. A day training programme is available at this site.
Seabrooke House is:
- Staffed 24 hours a day / 365 days a week
- Staffing ratio does reduce in the evenings and weekends as the majority of training/support takes place during the day
- Individual learning plans are devised for each person and reviewed weekly
- This site is perfect as the first step out of full time education, from the family home and towards independent living
- This a lively and fun site; learning opportunities are creative and we always work in partnership with each person
- Referrals usually come via Social Services but we can assist you with getting the right support and assessment
- We minimise risks but do not remove them; each person does need to have capacity to make their own decisions and be responsible for their own actions
- Target age range for this project is 18-35 years old
- Placements here usually last between six months and two years
