About us

KASBAH was founded in 1966 by a group of parents seeking support and guidance to achieve the best possible outcomes for their children with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. Since then, we have grown to share our skills, knowledge and resources more widely. Our services are open to disabled people, their carers and families across Kent.

KASBAH specialises in supported housing and helping people develop daily living skills through residential placements and day training opportunities. We also offer a small outreach service for people who have previously accessed Maddison House.

• We have six supported living sites in North West Kent and Medway.
• We support young disabled people moving on from education or the family home, as well as those ready for greater independence.
• Day training opportunities are available at Seabrooke House and at Princess Christian’s Farm in Tonbridge, where people can develop work and animal care skills.
• Our outreach team helps people who have previously accessed Maddison House maintain their daily living skills and lead full, active lives.

We also offer free information, advice and guidance:

• Our Advisor Service provides information, support and guidance on a wide range of disability related topics.
• Our charity shop, managed by service users and dedicated volunteers, offers a social drop in and community space.
